HF Strengthens Global Cooperation through MOUs with U.S. Government Agencies and Academic Institutions
In June 2025, Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Kim Kyung-Hwan) significantly expanded its global cooperation network by signing three Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with major U.S. government agencies and academic institutions.
The MOUs aim to enhance mutual understanding and promote policy collaboration in the field of housing finance. The agreements include:
▶A joint MOU with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Ginnie Mae
▶Separate MOUs with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy (LILP) and the Penn Institute for Urban Research (Penn IUR)
Through the MOU with HUD and Ginnie Mae, HF aims to strengthen the foundation for bilateral cooperation in the area of public housing finance. The agreement focuses on advancing stable and sustainable housing finance systems through policy dialogue, technical collaboration, and the exchange of best practices between Korea and the United States.
The MOUs with LILP and Penn IUR focus on collaborative research, academic exchange, and joint seminars covering topics such as inclusive housing, sustainable urban development, land use policy, and housing finance systems. These partnerships aim to promote data-driven policy development and expand comparative research between Korea and the United States.
A HF spokesperson stated, “These new MOUs are expected to enhance HF’s policy research capabilities and serve as a catalyst for advancing inclusive and resilient housing finance systems within the global housing finance cooperation framework. We will continue to expand international partnerships moving forward.”
